Amasya Beige Marble
Amasya Beige is a geographically registered marble from our Amasya Classic Beige Quarry, Türkiye’s largest marble quarry. It is processed at our Amasya factory and exported to more than 50 countries.
What Is Amasya Beige?
Amasya beige is the collective name for the beige marble extracted by open-pit methods from the Jurassic–Cretaceous Doğdu formation within the province of Amasya. Its parallel veining over a beige ground, its yellow-honey cast and its low porosity set it apart from other beige marbles in Türkiye.
Amasya Beige is used for floors and wall cladding in homes, hotels and commercial buildings. Surface finishes and maintenance methods are selected to suit the application.
Amasya Beige is sorted by colour and veining into varieties marketed as Classic Beige, Regal Beige, Regal Spotty Beige, Antique Beige, Sahara Beige and Tetra Beige.
The registration also sets out how the sign must be used: the geographical indication appears on the product packaging together with the producer's brand and no smaller than that brand. The label above is printed to this rule.
Registered as a Designation of Origin
"Amasya Beige Marble" was registered as a designation of origin by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on 11 June 2018 under number 358; the registration is held by the Amasya Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology. A designation of origin is the strictest category of geographical indication — every stage of production must take place inside the boundary written into the registration. Beige marble from outside that boundary cannot be sold under this name, however similar it may look.

The registered geographical boundary
The villages of Çivi, Akyazı, Musa, Eliktekke (Tekke), Yağmur, Kervansaray and Yördenik (Sıracevizler) in the central district of Amasya; Gaffarlı, Tencirli and Başpınar in the Göynücek district; and Kervansaray, Karakaya and Baculu in the Zile district of Tokat. Emmioğlu Marble's quarry is at Eliktekke, one of these villages.
Six Varieties of Amasya Beige
Classic Beige
Classic Beige combines warm beige tones with fine veining for floors and wall cladding in homes, hotels and commercial projects.
Regal Beige
Light beige tones and subtle veining for floors and wall cladding in hotels, homes and commercial projects.
Regal Spotty Beige
Natural crystalline patterns on a beige background for decorative wall cladding and panels. Each slab has its own pattern.
Antique Beige
Beige tones and a crystalline texture complement classic and rustic interiors. Surface finishes can be selected to suit the project.
Sahara Beige
Beige and gold tones with natural texture bring warmth to flooring and wall cladding.
Light Tetra Beige
Light beige colour and an even texture create a consistent look across large floors and wall surfaces.

Where Is It Used?
Floor covering
Hotel lobbies, airports, shopping centres and residential floors; polished, honed or antiqued finish.
Wall and facade
For interior wall and exterior facade cladding. Stone thickness, fixing systems and finishes are specified for each project.
Stairs and treads
Cut-to-size treads, risers and skirtings; textured or brushed finish for slip resistance.
Bathrooms and wet areas
For vanity tops, shower areas and wall cladding, with finishes, waterproofing and routine care suited to the application.
Fireplaces and decorative elements
Fireplace surrounds, TV units, reception desks and bespoke furniture surfaces.

Emmioğlu Group has been in the marble business since 1986. Our quarry is in Eliktekke, one of the villages named in the registered geographical boundary. The Eliktekke site yields 120,000 m³ of block a year across the Classic, Regal and Antique Beige selections.
For a designation of origin, what matters is not only where the stone comes out of the ground but where it is processed; every stage of production must stay inside the boundary. Our factory in Eliktekke village, Amasya processes all six selections there as slabs, cut-to-size and bespoke work.
Using the geographical indication requires permission: the plant is inspected, a protocol is signed with the Provincial Directorate, and use is audited at least twice a year. The "Protected Designation of Origin" emblem on Emmioğlu packaging is the result of that process — not decoration, but a documented entitlement.
Blocks from our quarry are exported directly to China and India, and also supply raw material to many marble factories across Central Anatolia. This production chain is the reason Amasya beige appears today in prestigious buildings in more than 50 countries.

Does Amasya beige have a geographical indication?
Yes. "Amasya Beige Marble" was registered as a designation of origin by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on 11 June 2018 under number 358, held by the Amasya Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology. Every stage of production must take place inside the registered boundary; a similar-looking beige marble from outside it cannot be sold under this name. A producer wishing to use the sign is inspected, signs a protocol with the Directorate and is audited at least twice a year.

What is the difference between Amasya beige and travertine?
Amasya Beige has a denser appearance, while travertine is distinguished by its natural surface cavities and can be supplied filled or unfilled. Finishes and care requirements should be considered for each application.
